I’m a houseplant-obsessed, coffee-guzzling, adventurer and upper elementary teacher from the Midwest! One of my core values is relationships first, which is why I’m so passionate about classroom community. It started inside of my own classroom as I was teaching abroad in Tanzania, East Africa and has exploded into sharing my simple yet effective strategies with teachers like you!
As a fourth grade teacher, I had *THAT* class (you know the one). I knew it wouldn’t be easy to create a focused, safe, and caring community (and it wasn’t! We spent the first half of the school year knee-deep in drama & behavior struggles), but through consistency and the tools I share with you, we became a class family.
I believe that all kids deserve and desire to learn & love - and I know that behind your tired eyes and stack of ungraded papers, you have the biggest heart for your students and want to set up your class for success. It’s hard work and may seem counterintuitive when you have SO many standards to teach, but it is 100% worth it. You’ll get more teaching done in less time when you first start with the heart!
