Do you use anchor charts in your classroom? 🗒

If you do (or have), you know how time-consuming they can be to make! 😣 But, it doesn’t have to be that way…

Using this teacher hack will save you tons of time and you can really use it for anything you want blown up poster size! I’ve done this with clip art to hang on the wall and it turned out great! 😍

Here’s the step by step:
1. Open your chart in Adobe Acrobat Reader (it’s free!)
2. File > Print > Choose the page you want to print.
3. Click Poster > change the tile scale (300% is a good size for me)
4. Make sure you’re printing single-sided and print!
5. Each page has a small margin, so cut one or two off each page so you can align the chart to match seamlessly.
6. Use clear tape to attach pages.

How many hours have you worked on a weekend? 😳😬

Sometimes it feels easier to spend more time working to check things off your list.

But that shouldn’t be the norm.

Your health and happiness is worth too much to spend most of your weekend neck-deep in laminating and lesson plans.

I should know…because that used to be me. 🥴 Nights, weekends, early mornings, I’ve done it all. And though it feels necessary, it’s actually not (or at least most of it isn’t).

How are you taking care of you this weekend?! ☕️

I took a 3 hour nap today, and it was GLORIOUS! I also love to frequent local coffee shops on the weekends or explore somewhere new! 🙌🏼🥰

Which question are you guilty of asking? 🧐

Don’t get me wrong, these questions aren’t BAD, but they aren’t great either. Here’s why-

1️⃣ summer isn’t a vacation to all of your students. Some don’t like it; others work harder (taking care of siblings, etc.) than the rest of the year. Instead, give them an opportunity to share how they’re feeling with you so you can validate and support them. 💞

2️⃣ basic questions like favorite color are things you’ll most likely learn through observation or genuine conversations. Start one off with an open ended question where they can choose what to share. 😍

3️⃣ have you ever come home from a long first day of work and your loved one asks, “Where should we go for dinner?” They mean well, but you’re so spent that you can’t even think straight. 🤪 Decision fatigue and new circumstances make it hard for us to make a choice, especially when we don’t know up from down. Even if you plan on letting students choose seats this year, make the decision for them the first week of school, and give them opportunities to weigh in on the important stuff.

💗 These easy switches can make a HUGE difference in your relationship building from the jump!
