How was your Mother’s Day?! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, celebrating your mammas, and that all you moms (and moms-to-be) felt loved and appreciated!
It was a pretty crazy weekend for me! I had to work both Saturday and Sunday, my brother Peter had his choir concert, and then all the family goodness! Saturday night my extended family on my dad’s side (all 24 of us) got together for Mother’s Day, my grandma’s birthday, and for a big family picture. AND we all had to color coordinate of course, so any free time I had was spent in the mall hoping to find an outfit for the picture! On top of all that, I had to bake a cake for the party! Whew- I was pooped!
Well, I also HAD to celebrate my amazing, loving, hostess with the mostess, creative, compassionate, fun, caring, dear mom!
I have been WAITING for this day, because of the gift my brothers and I were giving her! I love giving gifts, and this one was one for the books! The three of us (my brothers and I) went in together to get her and my dad tickets to see her favorite musical group, Il Divo! They are a European quartet who are incredible singers with passionate and opera-like voices. My mom just loves their passion and their voices!
Anyways, she has loved them for a long time, and this spring, I heard they were coming to Omaha to do a concert! AND it was going to be on mothers day!! So it was a NO-brainer, we had to get her tickets! So we surprised her on Saturday night after the party with them, and she was so excited! I loved seeing the shock on her face! So she and my dad went to see Il Divo on Sunday night. And they had a great time!!
Aren’t they just the cutest!? |
So that was the super awesome surprise I had planned for Mother’s Day! And, just for kicks and giggles, here is Il Divo…who knows, maybe they will become one of your favorites!!
