Welcome to my fun week-long series, Summer Travels!! I have five fun posts all themed around traveling this summer! The lightbulb went off in my head as I was preparing for my vacation to Colorado, which I am on currently! I hope you enjoy this series and get some good ideas and tips for your summer travels!!
I am always looking for a simple sweet treat to whip up for a get-together, or to munch on while traveling. This one only takes about 10 minutes to create, and it will be ready to eat in 30 minutes or less! The best part is, it only takes 3 things to make this, but you can definitely add in some fun toppings to make it unique! It’s definitely something good to have in your repertoire for those “in a pinch” situations! Let’s get started!
For this recipe you will need:
Wax Paper, Almond Bark, Pretzels, and Other Toppings of your Choice!
Start by covering your working service with wax paper.
Then, melt your almond bark. Feel free to go with the chocolate flavored bark, if you’d rather. You’ll need a whole package.
Next, spread your almond bark onto your wax paper, and make it as even as you can! You don’t want it too thin, but not too thick either. It’s pretty much a guessing game! I used my spoon to spread it out, just like frosting a cake!
And add your pretzels! You could definitely use the original mini pretzels, or pretzel rods like I did. Whatever you have on hand works great! Just break them into small pieces, and sprinkle them onto the melted almond bark. I also sprinkled on the remnants of the salty goodness at the bottom of the bag for a true sweet/salty mix!
Once your pretzels are secure, top it all off with your favorite add-ins! I put in coconut, but you could do sprinkles, nuts, heath, m&ms, basically whatever suits your fancy! You want to do this step after the pretzels, because it fills in all the wholes, but still gives you the presence of all the flavors!
When your masterpiece is finished, you’ll need to let it harden. If you’re impatient like me, or are in a hurry, pop the bark in the freezer for 15 minutes. Or just let it sit out until it’s all hard, even in the center.
Then, comes the fun part! Break up the big hunk of bark to create your pieces! I did it with no rhyme or reason, but they turned out pretty good!
And voila! Your delicious treat is ready to eat! I hope you enjoy making this {and eating it} as much as I did! Let me know what you added in to your bark to make it more delicious in the comments below, and if you try out this recipe, tag me in your post on Instagram or Twitter @allieelliott!
