This week has taken over my life! I am so sorry I literally haven’t blogged in a week, but I have lots of updates and recaps from the week to share!
Monday was my great-grandmother’s funeral. It was hard, and sad, but the better thing is that we know she is in heaven where she is in no pain! I think the most memorable part of the funeral was when the pallbearers had taken her casket out to the hearse, and our family followed them out. As they were driving the casket away we all sang a song that our family has sung for years and years when someone would leave the home: “May the blessing of the Lord be upon you; we bless you in the name of the Lord! May the blessing of the Lord be upon you; we bless you in the name of the Lord!” I was bawling, but it is a memory I will always cherish and remember! Here is a picture of her from several years ago:
Because of the funeral, a bunch of family had come into town, and stayed through Thanksgiving! It was fun to catch up and hang out with them. Plus, my aunt Sarah is an AMAZING cook, and the thanksgiving dinner was DELICIOUS!!
I had big plans to work a total of 13 hours on Black Friday, and I had worked almost every day for the past few weeks beforehand! Unfortunately though, it all caught up to me on Thanksgiving night. I had just finished the delicious Thanksgiving meal, and went to take a nap to refresh me for my first round of Black Friday work. When I went to lay down, I wasn’t feeling very good, and had struggled to get to sleep. When I woke up around 9:30, I ended up throwing up, and having flu-like symptoms. It was NOT fun at all. So, obviously, I had to call work and tell them I wasn’t coming in. Thankfully I only threw up twice, but had other symptoms all night and all day yesterday (fever, headache, and other unmentionables). I am MUCH better now, and I think it was just a 24-hour bug that I probably caught at work and was more susceptible to because of my long hours, not as much sleep, and all the craziness going on this week.

Well, that is all for me right now! Family is gone, the dust has settled, and I’m back to almost 100%. I think I’m going to spend the morning with a cup of tea, relaxing by our beautiful Christmas tree we got and lit up last night!
