Holding onto the Coattails of Summer!

I know I, along with everyone else, keep saying this, but I really cannot believe summer is over! Especially with this CRAZY heat, it still feels like we should have another month of it. I am, however, really looking forward to fall! It’s my favorite season, and I just cannot wait for boots, sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, crunchy and colorful leaves, brisk weather, and bonfires! This week’s Sunday Social is all about summer, so here we go!


Sunday Social


1. What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?
The only trip I took this summer was down to Grand Lake in Oklahoma. It was for just a weekend, but it was a relaxing and wonderful time!

I loved chilling in the water! Here I am with my friend Emily, just soaking up the sunshine!

2. What was your favorite outfit look/clothing item of the summer?
My daily wear, besides work clothes, was shorts and a colored tee! I’m usually a dress/skirt girl, and I definitely loved my maxi skirts too, but I got some black Old Navy linen shorts on clearance in the spring, and loved wearing them this summer! Super comfy for running around!

3. What is one thing you wish you’d gotten to do this summer?
I wish I would have been able to travel more. I have the travel bug right now, and want to go somewhere! Hopefully I’ll take a couple road trips in the fall. We were supposed to go to Colorado this weekend for Labor Day, but ended up not going. I love traveling!

4. What was your favorite song of the summer?

5. What was your favorite movie/tv show of the summer?
I loved watching the Food Network Star, and the new show Cutthroat Kitchen on Food Network! The new show Camp, is pretty funny too!

Here is my Instagram month-in-review of August:
I started a new Bible Study this month on Gideon by Priscilla Shirer. It is INCREDIBLE.
 
Sometimes, if I have nothing to eat for dinner, I like to make “refrigerator gourmet”, aka whatever I can find in my fridge and put together to be yummy!
Coast to Coast Central celebrated their first birthday this month, so they had some super fun #coasttocoastchallenges, one which was Paper Doll. This was my version!
 
 
 
Then, it was my 23rd birthday! I had a fabulous day! I started out by sleeping in, then headed to the gym to swim with my dad. We went to lunch (Thai Food!!) for lunch afterwards! Then I went and got pedis with my mom, we had the most incredible foot massages! To top it off, we finished the day at Jazz on the Green with a best friend, Emily, and one set of grandparents. We packed a HUGE picnic, and had a glorious night!
 
I did a RAK, by sending off some thank-yous and “just because” notes! I {heart} snail mail!
 
It was a wonderful month! I’m looking forward to posting more regularly in September, now that I have my new laptop! It’s going to be a great month!

    I wish I had gotten to travel more too. My daughter is older now and I wast to go on trips with her. Pretty soon she will be done with school and I want to take advantage of the time we have left.
