Over Christmas, someone introduced me to this AWESOME app:
Basically, this app allows you to scan a barcode, and shows you what the product is, how much it is selling for at different retailers (online and local), the details of the product, and customer reviews. You can also search for different products, as well as scan in loyalty cards for different stores!
it might seem complicated, but here, let me show you how easy it is!
For example, I pressed the red ‘scan’ button at the bottom of the screen to scan the barcode on my book, and get these results…
Once the barcode is scanned, it automatically goes to this page. you can see a handful of sellers online where you can get the book. Or, you can select the ‘local’ tab…
It not only shows you where you can buy it, but the prices and the distance the stores are from you! Since walmart has the lowest price, I selected it…
You can go to Walmart’s website, call to make sure it’s there, and get the address and directions! How convenient!
Going back to the main page, you can go to reviews tab to get customer reviews as well!
You can also scan your loyalty cards and store them in the app for convenience too!
Okay, so you may be thinking, “That’s great and all, but does it really work?” Let me tell you, it DOES! And though you may not want to traipse all through town, it shows you where you’ll get the most bang for your buck! Also, the app stores what you’ve scanned, so you can pull it up again later!
Now, I actually went yesterday to try it out again. I went to Walmart on a makeup mission! Here’s how it went down…
I scanned my FAVORITE mascara package, to see if Walmart really had the best value. As you can see above, Target actually had a cheaper price than Wally World! So I decided, since Walmart advertises that it price-matches everything, to see if they would give me the mascara for $.90 less. I just showed them what I showed you above, and my cashier gave me the mascara for $5.04!! How great is that! So it is definitely worth it to do your research, especially when you can use the price-matching at walmart!
