Now for…
As I hinted at earlier, I started a Daniel Fast this week. That means I am only eating things that have grown from the earth- no processed junk, no meat or animal products, basically just fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, water etc. Though its been hard, it’s been really good for me! It’s a cleanse that isn’t too tough to do, but still challenges you. It’s a perfect pair with working out every day. This is a great way to reconcile those new years goals that you may have put on the back burner. I’m doing mine until February 5th, which is when I leave for hawaii. And I’m already seeing results on the scale after just 3 days! Are you looking to do something like this? Here are a few tips I have:
1. Stock up
Don’t be afraid to stock up on your fruits and veggies! You go through them fast when you only eat those things!
2. Superfoods
Focus on getting lots of the superfoods in your diet- like spinach, blueberries, and even sweet potatoes!
3. Protein
Even though you’re not eating animal products, its important to still get that protein in to make you feel full. Nuts and nut butters, as well as beans, are a great way to do so!
4. Prepare
If you spend most of your day out of your home, make sure you prepare your meals AND SNACKS beforehand so you’re all set for your day on the go! I like to bring a fruit and nuts with me for a great in-between or post-workout snack!
I’d love to answer any other questions you have! Are you doing something like this? How’s it going for you?
Sarah @ Scissors and a Whisk says
Woohoo! What part of Hawaii are you going to? We went for our honeymoon last month, and starting tomorrow I'm actually posting pix from it lol.
Thanks for linking up! I'm so glad you like the button =) That was all Stephanie!
