Hiya friends! I’m finally getting into the working routine, and loving it! I have gotten lots of hours, and, with having a friend in town, working out, and volunteering at church, that means I haven’t had much blog lovin’ time! But that’s all changing today! I’m starting my post off with my September Currently a la Farley!
Listening: i’m super excited to watch the Glee Project finale next week! Also, I started watching the new season of ANTM!
Loving: I have lost 24 pounds so far this summer! I shed those pounds by getting myself to the gym every day!
Thinking: this weekend is going to be fantastical! first of all, saturday will be the first day in 8 days i won’t have to work. which is perfect because i’m running this on Friday:
My church started this run 2 years ago to support two amazing non-profits in my city: Abide Network and Hope Center for Kids. We will be running/walking in downtown Omaha at midnight! It’s a 5k and everyone from babies to grandparents can participate! afterwards there will be a fun party to celebrate! Its my first time running in this race, and I can’t wait!

Do you use exit slips in your classroom? If you are not familiar, an exit slip can be anything that shows you what your students learned from a lesson, a unit, a day, etc. It could be a verbal phrase they tell you as they are lining up, a note on a sticky note they stick on a board, a journal entry, etc. I have seen many ways that exit slips are used in the classroom:
Why are exit slips an important part of your classroom?
Teachers: they tell you what your students learned or didn’t learn, and are formative assessments to guide your future teaching.
Students: they ground their thinking, so the information isn’t just fed and regurgitated, but it is digested and used to help them learn. it also provides a way for them to share what they learned, which is unique to them.
A lot of times, I would use a simple exit slip activity after a lesson before lunch, specials, or the end of the day. Students would have to raise their hand to share what they had learned. Once they answered and told me and the class, they could get in line. I would call on the students who were paying attention, and who were waiting patiently. This is a simple verbal exercise that can really wrap up the loose ends in your lessons.
I will have an exit slip product in my TPT store soon that can make your life easier!!

Thats all for me tonight! I will see you back here tomorrow!!
